Homestay Programs, Independent Immersion Homestay Programs, and
International Youth Camps.
Intercultural Language Study A foundation of daily language instruction is complemented by
active cultural workshops, a variety of sport and leisure
activities, and travel excursions on afternoons and weekends. TWU
Intercultural Language Programs improve language skills, and inspire
a passion for travel and interculturalism that students continue to
nurture throughout their lives. TWU offers
Two-,
three-, four-, five, and six-week programs:
a choice of campus-based programs in select destinations or homestay
accommodation in most all destination cities. The TWU Intercultural
Language Study programs focus on language immersion, with daily
Foreign Language courses at various levels, supplemented by a
program of afternoon and weekend cultural workshops, leisure and
cultural activities, and travel excursions as well as optional
location specific offerings such as Flamenco Dance Lessons, Japanese
Calligraphy, Sailing and more.
Independent Immersion Homestay Programs
TWU’s Independent Immersion Homestay Programs focus exclusively on
immersion into the host country through the homestay experience.
Select host families provide room and board and the student learns
to understand the host culture day by day. By living with a family,
students absorb and experience not just the language but also the
values, customs, and traditions of a new country. TWU offers
Two-,
three-, four-, five, and six-week programs.
Independent Intercultural Homestay Programs
TWU’s Independent Intercultural Homestay Programs focus exclusively
on immersion into the host country through the homestay experience
with the added bonus of intercultural excursions and activities.
This program incorporates excursions and activities that do not
involve/require participation of the host family in the
activity/excursion. Select host families provide room and board and
the student learns to understand the host culture day by day. By
living with a family, students absorb and experience not just the
language but also the values, customs, and traditions of a new
country. TWU offers
Two-,
three-, four-, five, and six-week programs.
International Youth Camps offer Multi-activity camping, sports, arts,
and wilderness trips, as well as language courses for teens. TWU
International Youth Camps offer an amazing opportunity to youth who
want to participate in sports and camp activities, learn a foreign
language, and make friends that will last a lifetime. Camp programs
vary by destination city and country and depending upon location can
consist of one core focus area such as Soccer aimed at students who
want to improve skills in a specific sport or they may combine
activities with emphasis on language learning with the activity
components of the camp being more recreational than results driven.
